This year's Tokyo Motor Show will witness another solar rooftop, this time on Honda's new concept car, the EV-N. Honda will have the largest exhibit at the show, with an entire section devoted to electric vehicles. The EV-N will be battery-powered with integrated solar power panels on the roof providing additional power.
The EV-N is a compact car with two doors and four seats. The back seats fold down to provide some added storage space. Other rather quirky amenities include changeable seat covers, a "communications system" embedded in the front of the car and one of Honda's unique U3-X electric unicycles built into the passenger side door for sidewalk mobility.
More specific information on the EV-N is limited, perhaps in lieu of its grand unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show. We are especially keen to find out exactly how much power those solar power panels will provide. Can it top this year's solar-ventilated 3rd Generation Toyota Prius? And when will Honda's concept appear at our local Honda dealer?
