Most homes have at least two colors in their exterior paint palette.
Winter has arrived, and with it long confining days indoors. Why not take advantage of this extra time and spruce up your interior design a bit? One fun way to do this is to add little accent colors in key places.
Each year color schemes change. Sometimes they seem as variable as clothing styles. Fortunately, you don't have to change your interior décor that often; realistically, every four or five years is sufficient. Interior house colors actually allow a fair amount of flexibility. The colors of the year might be golds and reds, but you have the option of choosing a more neutral color such as cream for your main color and accentuating with golds and browns.
That is the beauty of accent colors. They can be applied anywhere and to anything. Try painting a piece of trim here, or add a splash to that corner molding there. Use your accent colors to update older furniture, or even outdated tile or appliances. Accent colors can be added by painting a whole wall, room, or ceiling as well. It is not uncommon to have two or three colors in one room.
Add accent colors with the use of accessories as well. Maybe paint a basket to hold magazines, or a corner plant stand. Pull the color throughout the room with your draperies, throw pillows, and upholsteries.
Accent colors can also play a major role in creating exterior design as well. Most homes have at least two colors in their exterior paint palette. Some even throw in a third or fourth for additional flare. Thank you John for a superb job especially the way you cleaned up at the end of each day, it was nice to come home after work and find our home in same manner as we had left that morning except for the beautiful new paint on our walls and trim. I will highly recommend Burke Painting to any of my family and friends who are looking for a custom painter.
I've already recommended you to a couple of my friends. Thank you for a first rate custom paint job, my doors look like they have a factory paint finish on them. Exactly what I was looking for. -- Darlene - Lafayette
