Part of the challenge of building green is finding the best materials to use at a reasonable price. Ecohome Improvement, a Berkeley home improvement store, offers a range of earth-friendly building materials all in one place. And no, it’s not too good to be true. ecohome improvement store Whether you’re in the market for new flooring, updated cabinetry, spectacular kitchen countertops, or simply the right paint color to spruce up your home, Ecohome has a bit of everything for everyone. But more importantly, they bring a comprehensive knowledge base about all of their materials, and they can work with each customer to make their home greener and healthier. Off of the main store, Ecohome houses a Design Studio in which customers can look at full-size displays of cabinets, countertops, appliances and tiles that they may want to use in their home. They also offer design consultations for kitchens, bathrooms and tiles, and full installation for cabinets, countertops, flooring, and tiles. For the more DIY types, there’s a loaner library on-site where customers can come up with their own design ideas. ecohome improvement paint Housing their zero-VOC paints is the Paint Bar, a place where customers can go to browse countless paint samples or have their own color choice from another brand converted into VOC-free paint. There are lots of companies out there now offering “green” materials, but Ecohome has one above them—they’re a one-stop-shop founded solely on being earth-friendly. They certainly have my vote.
