When great design literally takes your breath away, you know it’s worth talking about.  Case in point: The Design Firm, a company based out of Houston, has a portfolio of work that would make even die-hard design fiends swoon.

Founded in 1979 by Kara and Eric Wuellner, a small team of dedicated designers gives clients one-on-one attention while still maintaining a sought-after reputation. Most of the homes showcased on their website look like sprawling mansions, but they also cater to clients in urban-type residences as well.

Over-the-top glam and luxurious additions make each space seem as if it were made for royalty.  But while expensive taste usually detracts from comfort, many of these rooms look like spa retreats you might never want to leave.  Depending on the client’s budget, this multi-faceted company can create a design from scratch or choose pieces already in the home.  Either way, they manage to make everything look absolutely gorgeous.
