Detroit Gears Up for Remodeling and Design Expo

For a lot of homeowners, it’s the getting started phase that proves most intimidating. But with the great big Fall Remodeling & Design Expo just around the corner, your home improvement project is about to look quite a bit more attractive.
Sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan, this all-in-one remodeling show is booked for the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi from October 7 to 10, 2010. And for a massive expo like this, the question isn’t what they have, but what don’t they have?
During the four-day event, you’ll be able to browse dozens of exhibits showcasing new windows and doors, flooring, furniture, cabinetry and kitchen and bath interiors—all while picking up invaluable information from local home improvement specialists. A “Green Lifestyles Area” will also provide tips on how you can make your home more environmentally-friendly.
If information doesn’t excite you, then the prizes might. At the show, you can enter to win a solar panel package from Rapid Roofing, including 2,000 square feet of shingles, a lifetime warranty, and a 1-kw photovoltaic solar system. Other prizes are a whopping 15-piece set of stainless steel cookware from Kitchen Craft, as well as a collection of stainless steel appliances from Wholesale Builders Supply.
The show will be open weekdays from 2 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Adults are $8, seniors are $7, and children (12 and under) are free. Have fun!
