With fall around the corner, everybody’s looking to turn their home into a cozy retreat. And what better way to get into the “nesting” spirit than to visit home-inspired expos and events around the city? Here are a few snapshots of what’s going on around the San Diego area. san diego fall events

Betty Crocker Estate Open House and Tours

Whether you’ve got a sweet tooth or simply love historical homes, the Betty Crocker Estate Open House and Tour might just be the perfect way to spend a Sunday. The Valley Center Historical Society will be conducting tours of the 3,000-square-foot, 8-acre home of Agnes White (who prepared recipes under the name Betty Crocker), on Oct. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 29200 Miller Road in Valley Center. Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by calling (760) 749-2993.

Vista Community Clinic’s 24th Annual Holiday Homes Tour

Now who doesn’t love getting into the spirit of the holidays by visiting immaculately decorated homes? This event offers tours of four Vista-area homes that have been professionally decorated for the holidays. It will take place on Dec. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $20 at the door, but all proceeds go to the Clinic’s Kare for Kids Fund.
