Contemporary Farmhouse in Napa Wine Country

Tucked away in the plush landscape of California’s wine country, the Sonoma Ranch by Walker/Warner Architects is nearly as breathtaking as its surroundings. The home was created to emulate the best qualities of a contemporary farmhouse: quaint, comfortable and community-oriented.

To capitalize on the plethora of entertaining space, the home was built in a U-shape with courtyard right in the middle. This provides a comfortable outdoor lounging area protected from the afternoon winds that often whip through the area. Ample seating makes the space functional and party-ready.

Interior design firm Tedrick and Bennett adhered to classic simple lines and pastel colors. Exposed beams in the dining area bring the farm-like charm front and center.

Another living room area blanketed in white seems to be guided by the natural light that pours through the space. A master bath with his-and-her sinks along with a spa tub encourage rest and relaxation.

Rolling hills and rich, green landscape set against the stark white of the home itself are a sight to behold. Surely a better place to sip a glass of wine doesn’t exist.
