Milgard Awning Windows

The awning window functions just like it sounds - it opens upward to create an awning over your window opening. With the hinge at the top and glass extended outward, the awning window is perfect for ventilating a room, no matter what the weather. Precipitation won’t be able to make its way in.

Because of its easy mechanics, which are constructed at the bottom of the window, awnings are great features for basements and work well above picture windows or other high places. As with the casement window, screens for awning windows are located on the interior of the window, and while that may take some getting used to, it’s actually advantageous. Having screens on the inside means that they will stay cleaner, require less maintenance and remain shielded from the elements. That makes your job as homeowner a heck of a lot easier.

Milgard, a top American window manufacturer, offers several varieties of the awning window. In fact, it’s available in every single line Milgard offers (with the exception of one of their three vinyl series).

Milgard Tuscany Vinyl Awning Window

In the Tuscany vinyl line, the awning window comes with your choice of the Milgard Low Profile Nesting Folding Handle or the casement lock, both designed to tuck away and give the window a sleeker appearance. The awning comes with white and tan color options for the exterior frame, as well as white and tan plus two wood options for the interior trim.

Montecito Vinyl Awning Window

The Montecito vinyl awning carries traditional crank hardware and your choice of the casement lock or folding lock. The window is available in tan or white interior and exterior frame colors.

WoodClad and Ultra Series

Both Milgard fiberglass lines, the WoodClad and Ultra series, offer the curtain knob hardware on their awning windows, but also the option of substituting the standard handle, folding handle or casement lock hardware. They also offer several options for the exterior finish color, so that your window trim can match or complement the existing color scheme of your home. The interior trim on the Ultra is white only, but the interior of the WoodClad awning window can be one of two wood options, although you can order it unfinished and stain it any shade you choose.

Aluminum Awning Windows

Milgard aluminum and thermally improved aluminum series offer the awning window with handle-locking hardware system and a few different frame color options.
