In 1960, a small millwork plant opened in Klamath Falls, Oregon. With only 15 employees, the plant began manufacturing windows under the JELD-WEN name. Today, that small company has grown to become a privately-held transnational company with over 150 divisions and 20,000 employees worldwide.
The JELD-WEN philosophy encourages cooperation among their many employees, facilities, suppliers and customers. In this way, the company can ensure a quality product from start to finish with a reputation for service and satisfaction throughout a window's lifetime. Speaking of products, JELD-WEN constructs wood, vinyl, clad-wood and aluminum windows, along with a variety of wood, steel and fiberglass doors.
In 2003, the company decided to consolidate all 27 of its window brands worldwide under the singular JELD-WEN name. Unlike other window holding companies, customers around the world can easily recognize a JELD-WEN product. This also eliminates off-brand knockoffs and ensures that every product is up-front with the name and quality of a JELD-WEN window.
