Laminate kitchen cabinets have been a popular choice for decades. If you’re interested in low-pressure laminates, you’ll be pleased to know they ring in at a lower price than high-pressure varieties. Intrigued? Check out the facts.
Since laminates are at the lower end of cabinet materials, expect to pay $50 to $75 per linear foot. Low-pressure laminates should cost less than high-pressure laminates.
Low-pressure laminate is manufactured under 300-500 lbs. per square inch of pressure, while high-pressure laminates are created at 1,400 lbs. Therefore, low-pressure laminates are not made to withstand the same amount of wear and tear. That being said, the durability also relies greatly on the manufacturer that you purchase from.
While low-pressure laminates are made to be moisture-resistant, it’s important that you don’t break the original coating. For everyday cleaning, use a liquid cleaner mixed with water.
