licensing arrangement between Thomasville, a long-respected American
furniture manufacturer, and Home Depot/Expo, the exclusive retail
outlet for the product line. Thomasville Furniture oversees quality
control and product development, while manufacturing is done by some
of the home improvement giant's regular suppliers.
When it was first announced in 2001, a Thomasville executive noted, "Thomasville Cabinetry has more of a furniture feel to it, and allows our furniture customers to extend the same sense of fashion Thomasville Furniture is noted for into new areas of the home."
As with Thomasville's furniture line, styles tend to be traditional, with an emphasis on stained or painted wood (including cherry, hickory, maple and oak), though other materials and finishes are available in selected styles.
