Well, they were definitely showing some serious marketing smarts when they introduced several programs to encourage customers to buy energy efficient products through their ENERGY STAR™ program. Purchasing ENERGY STAR products is already an investment in energy savings and now, you may be qualified to receive sales tax exemptions, tax credits, tax rebates and even federal tax credits for these purchases.
To determine whether your purchase of windows, doors, skylights, insulation, and roofing products qualify for sales tax exemptions, tax credits, or tax rebates, you should visit this page of the Energy Star Web site. It will ask you to provide your zip code and check what purchases you have made. These purchases are not restricted to what are called “home envelope” products. They also include home appliances, fans, heating and cooling equipment, home electronics, lighting products and office equipment.
Another special program to provide federal tax credits for energy-efficient improvements to your home in 2006 and 2007 is detailed at this Web site. (Click the 1040 button at the bottom left of the screen.) Don’t miss your opportunity to save additional money for these improvements.
Energy Star sponsors special offers such as tax exemptions, tax credits, or rebates to further encourage consumers to buy energy efficient products. What tax rebates do you qualify for?… Read more »
