Homax is a leading supplier of DIY and professional home improvement products. Best known for their aerosol drywall textures and steel wool pads, Homax also offers tile and stone care products, kitchen and bath products, paint hardeners, drywall patching tools, tarps, fencing accessories and an EPA-recognized household lead check.
Homax was founded in 1982 when a young DIY'er realized that there were no easy methods for homeowners to patch and repair wall texture. Subsequently he invented the Spray Texture Gun, the first of hundreds of Homax products and more than 30 patents. In 2004 Homax was purchased by Olympus Partners, and with the comfort of corporate backing, has since purchased four other companies. One piece of recognition: Lowe's named Homax its 2004 Vendor of the Year in the Paint Department.
Recognizable Homax brands include Goo Gone, Tile Guard, Rhodes American steel wool, Magic American Cleaners and their staple Homax Aerosol Spray Textures. These and other Homax products are found in paint and hardware stores, home centers, discount stores and specialty stores across North America.
