Wood Paneling

There are many captivating ways to finish the drywall within your home. Whether with colorful paints, quality wallpapers, simple textures, or a fancy faux finish, the design possibilities are endless. Another unique way to spice it up is to mix in wood paneling. How about trying more of a natural theme, and having knotty-pine lining the walls and ceilings of your home? Another option is to simply use the paneling as a highlight. Hide an outdated popcorn textured ceiling, for example, with sweet-smelling pine that looks timeless and genuine.

Wood paneling is manufactured in tongue and groove panels, wood veneers, or as medium density fiberboard panels (MDF). Tongue and groove panels are made out of pines, cedars, and redwoods. It can be stained, sealed or painted depending on the look you hope to achieve. MDF is another popular option, and much more affordable than real wood. It can be used over half of a wall or to decorate a ceiling. Beadboard and raised paneling are two other popular products that give wainscoting a classy twist.

The following collection of articles will familiarize you with the various products and materials available, and will briefly discuss the installation process as well as the qualities of each. As a homeowner, it is in your best interest to be as up-to-date as possible!
