Daniel Steinkoler loves being able to drive around Washington, D.C. and see the homes he's remodeled or renovated. As President of Superior Home Services, he's been in business so long that he literally finds one of these homes on every block. With 23 years of experience in the industry behind him, Daniel is more than just a high-end remodeler; he's also an active community member and columnist for the Georgetowner.

Superior Home Services opened its doors in 1989. For homeowners based in Northwest Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County, the company offers full-service, high-end remodeling, including new construction and custom homes and specializing in historic home restoration. "We are a small company with personalized service," Daniel says.

High-End Remodeling with a Personal Touch

Superior Home Services pays careful attention to individual projects, never overloading or filling up the company schedule with too many jobs. Specializing in high-end projects, Superior Home gives customers the advantage of focus and a clear direction. Customers can anticipate working with highly trained experts in their craft. "We work on one or two jobs at a time, with the same crew, which includes in-house plumbers and electricians. We train everyone who works for us," Daniel says.

In addition, because Superior Home Services doesn't hire subcontractors, the company can keep a tight rein on job timing and quality control, ensuring that schedules are followed, expectations are met, and that clients save money in the process. "All finished work is conducted by in-house employees, including plumbing, electrical, and all the finished trades like carpentry, plastering, painting, and tile work. This allows us to maintain quality control from the rough-end process to the finished product." The results are a highly personalized service, geared toward forming relationships with customers that will last for life.

Detail, Detail, Detail

Daniel Steinkoler is confident that there's nothing Superior Home Services can't do. From restoring a bathroom built in the early 1800's to building a new, $4 million custom house to creating a historical pool cabana with pool, Superior Home Services handles all high-end specialty remodeling and historical restoration requests ranging from $30,000 to $4 million and based in the Georgetown and Washington areas.

"What we do is really high end; it's all about detail, detail, detail. More than that, though, all our work is based on a relationship with the client. We love our clients, we want them to love us," Daniel says. Because Superior Home Services prioritizes personalized service, 98 percent of the company's business over the past 22 years has been garnered from referrals. "We do very little advertising, and due to the recent downturn in the economy, we just started advertising for first time in 22 years."
