Paul Davis Restoration is a franchised operation with 225 offices nationwide; each office is independently owned and operated. PDR is the largest remodeler in the nation with close to 500 million dollars in yearly sales, encompassing not only remodeling, but also repairs caused by fire, water, mold, hurricanes, etc.

Locally, Per Svedlund started the business in 1986 out of a garage in La Jolla. Now based in an office building in the Miramar, Mira Mesa area, Paul Davis Restoration of San Diego is available for service to the 3 million people in San Diego County.

Retaining Good People

At Paul Davis Restoration, the company philosophy is to keep good people and pay them well to reduce turnover. "We have about 30 people on the payroll. We try to do as much as possible with our own people," Per says.

This means reducing the amount of work that is subcontracted and giving employees specific roles. In turn, this helps homeowners receive the services they need. "We have 4 estimators and 3 superintendents who are responsible for getting the jobs done without complaints. We put a lot of emphasis on the clients' needs."

Customer Satisfaction

Paul Davis Restoration of San Diego understands that homeowners are wary of cost overruns and time delays. To help the process run as smoothly as possibly, the company invests a tremendous amount of time educating their clients about what their remodeling work will entail. "We help facilitate their selection process of fixtures, etc. We need to be able to walk our talk."

After job completion, an independent company surveys every job that PDR does. "We review every response we get to perfect our operation."
