Q: In your 10 years in the business, what was your favorite job?

A: “I did a job for an elderly couple. The man is in a wheelchair. It was a small job (8 windows, 1 patio door). The competition had tried to pressure them and their prices were high. The client was discouraged and felt they could not afford new windows. I assured them that I would make it happen for them. I installed windows that were higher quality and more energy efficient than the competition, and they were able to afford it. They told all their neighbors in the park, and I have received several referrals. I sometimes just drop by their place (about 50 miles away) and I always get a big hug and they brag about how they love their "windows from Joe." Financially, that job was barely profitable, but the long-term reward is great... That is the difference between having a client and having a customer.
