Empire Builders has over 22 full-time employees that do everything from bathrooms and kitchens to painting and additions. You name your request, and the company will provide the service. In addition, Empire Builders supplies high-end products for all of their projects, using the best materials to see the job through.
Because Empire Builders uses in-house employees and never subcontracts, the company gets to know customers well. "Our employees are much more motivated to do a good job because we receive the same customers over and over. Subcontractors are motivated by booking as much work as they can and making so much money. Motivation for our crews is different because we're doing this work ourselves, not subcontracting."
Empire Builders believes in paying employees a good living wage. The company is structured to give clients the services they need. There are currently two, full-time office personnel on board to do the scheduling. Every jobsite has an on-site supervisor, and the general manager also assesses the job – every day. In addition, the job site receives calls from the office on a daily basis for further monitoring.
"Homeowners usually don't understand the scope of the remodeling project. So we strive to communicate what we've done so far, what we're going to do the next day, and what we're going to do the next week to keep customers in the loop and increase their comfort level."
Empire Builders takes dramatic efforts to ensure the best in preparation and communication. All of the company's jobs are kept clean, every job has an onsite supervisor, and customers can expect daily communication. "That way, we see the same customers over and over through the years. I would say 90% of our work is either for repeat customers or referrals."
