Ruben Limon has been in the landscaping industry since 1984 and his corporation, Antigua Landscapes, opened in 2002. Limon fell in love with art of landscaping at an early age, when he helped his uncle in the summers to make extra money. He enjoys designing, building, growing gardens, working with ideas, and bringing them to life. "The best aspect of being a part of Antigua Landscapes is the reward that a well-designed and well-installed landscape will give for many years to come," he says.
To make ideal landscapes a reality, the company sets high development and management standards, catering to projects that are interesting and challenging. These include swimming pools, outdoor kitchens, fire pit settings, highly skilled masonry craftsmanship, water features, and planting, which is a priority to Limon. "The most important part of my work will always be: Planting the right plant in the right place to watch it grow perfectly and healthily, to admire it when it naturally fills the space where it lives."
In addition to utilizing company talent to create the best settings possible, Limon believes Antigua Landscapes stands out for the staff's experience, on-hand knowledge, and openness to learn new things on a daily basis. "I like to personalize every project to my clients' lifestyles and tastes, listening to them as we go along. As we select colors, materials, plants, etc., I like to know that they are going to like their changes ahead of time."
Though every landscape project has a different timeline, Limon says the strength of each one starts with proper grading and good water drainage, regardless of whether it covers a large or a small area. "That is the foundation for all the steps to come." Currently, Antigua Landscape receives a lot of requests for outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and especially, water features. Every project is executed to stay on schedule, on budget, and with a shining final product as the goal.
Limon states seeing his work 10 years later as the ultimate reward. "Ten years later, driving by a project or someone's residence where we did some work, seeing and admiring the foliage looking better than ever – that's my favorite aspect of this business."
He adds, "Give us the opportunity to make you proud of your landscape. You will congratulate yourself for making a good choice when you select the right company to trust and to work with."
