Absolutely Outdoors has been in business since 1996, providing homeowners in the Northwest Houston Area, including Houston, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, Magnolia, and Conroe with the absolute best in landscaping and paving services.

Company History and Background

Josh started the company small, with a varying labor force. "The expansion of this company occurred following my graduation from Texas A&M University. The decision to expand was made and a staff of sixty individuals has been formed over the last eight years of growth."

Today, Absolutely Outdoors is structured to take on a range of workloads, from large, custom designed landscape projects to smaller, one-day jobs. Absolutely Outdoors offers the following benefits in versatility, capacity, and expertise.

We can find ourselves installing on an average week, anything from one-day residential landscape installation, to a six-month tediously engineered estate landscape, irrigation, and hardscape project."
• "We find the most enjoyment working on custom designed landscape projects we create, which can incorporate water features, wooden structures, elaborate planting schemes, and structurally intense hardscape features."

Preparation and Execution

According to Josh, landscaping can have many angles and areas that people do not realize are relevant to a mature landscape over time. Because of this, careful preparation is critical to a successful landscaping project. Josh mentions the following key steps:

• "Diagnosis of existing irrigation on site, investigation of site drainage, and surrounding drainage affecting the work area, proper grading to assure drainage of site, exposure of sun or shade to agree with planting choices, soil content to include proper nutrients and aggregates as to ensure plant development, plant selection to agree with area temperatures and precipitation qualities, etc.
• "To ensure that all of the proper planning and design work is instituted on each job site, our landscape superintendents carefully walk through daily procedure and evaluate work completed on site for quality control. Research on new products and updates on breakthrough education in our field is always an important part of staying ahead of the curve, and maintaining our reputation and quality."

Creative Rapport

Absolutely Outdoor strives to engender a truly personal experience with every homeowner. "The transformation of one's outdoor living space can be a big step for most homeowners and the comfort level must be established with each individual to realize what their true expectations of the project are," Josh says.

This is established with daily communication between the designer and customers, as well as the use of illustrations and drawings to help the customers visualize their results.

"Our way of finding a comfort zone with the customer is by illustration and use of a full color rendering, including a scaled site drawing of the plants or structures and features proposed in our design. The use of three dimensional computer illustrations has now been recently added to our arsenal of features to place the customers in the design. The combination of these illustrations, along with pictures of previous projects, video virtual tours, and site visits on current projects can bring a thorough understanding towards the directions of our creativity.

"We believe that an outdoor living space is an extension of the home, and should reflect one's personality and style. Therefore, the relationship with our customers must be one that includes honesty, trust, and communication."

At the end of the day, Absolutely Outdoors is just as proud of the results as the homeowner. "My favorite aspect of this business is being able to take the same amount of physical space and being able to transform it into something unbelievably original and creative 1,000 times over."
