Why I Love a Good Country Kitchen
From Kayla on April 30th, 2010 in Kitchen Remodel
If country kitchens conjure up images of plaid fabric and cow accessories, it may be time to modernize your thinking. Adding a rustic touch to your own kitchen can amp up the comfort factor while simultaneously encouraging more home cookin’.

Don’t believe me? Look at this country kitchen from Doimo Cucine. It makes me want to attend a ho-down in my most stylish pair of heels.

I love the crisp cream colors used for the cabinetry; they lend themselves surprisingly well to a style usually preoccupied with aged wood.

Perhaps the best parts about updating and reconfiguring the country kitchen are the new strides in organization and functionality. Check out these great drawers used for dishes and other odds and ends.

Drawing inspiration from countryside villas, each of these designs come with ample hutch-style shelf space to display worthy accessories. This turns the kitchen into an extension of the owner’s personality instead of just a place for making meals.
Even if you can’t appreciate country music or cowboy boots, surely you can see the appeal in a country style kitchen. Now if you can excuse me, I’m going to go make some biscuits and gravy…

Country kitchens are my favorite! You’re right about country kitchens being so much more than plaid and cows. The country kitchens of today are much more transitional and include attributes from different styles. Those pics are truly inspriational and I will show them to my customers who cringe when I mention a country kitchen.
