When deciding whether to replace or reface, its important to consider the current condition of the cabinet and drawer frames. If they are in good shape, and especially if they are solidly constructed using wood or plywood as was more common in the olden days, then refacing is the smarter and much more economical choice.

If your cabinets are constructed of more flimsy material and are not in such good shape, or if you are not happy with the overall layout of your kitchen, then replacing might be the better choice for you.
