Camilla’s Amazingly Simple Kitchen Re-Do
From Margaret on January 3rd, 2011 in Kitchen Remodel

One of the many frustrations of renting your home can arise when you want to improve your space. There are so many restrictions—plus, who wants to put money into something they don’t even own?
Do-it-yourselfer Camilla recently set to work creating a new kitchen look through some slap-the-forehead simple choices, and the effects are uniquely amazing. The above-pictured kitchen, as it looked originally, featured simple but scratched-up hardwood flooring.

Camilla began with wood filler on a process that took her good-enough floors to this jade green beauty. The current chic trend of painting floors gets a light and new life here. In addition, Camilla’ color works beautifully with the white cabinetry (and that wonderful farmhouse sink—oh don’t mess with that) and showcase the existing cabinet hardware.

The custom color, Spruce Green by Benjamin Moore, matches the original color of the walls. With the walls now Glass of Milk by Martha Stewart, Camilla’s favorite color went on the floors to make over this entire kitchen for about $50.
What do you think about the results? Would you have chosen a different color or left the floors the same? Leave us a comment with your two cents.
