Home Chalkboard Walls: Creative or Just Tacky?
From Kayla on March 5th, 2010 in Home Decor
Personally, I think some of these ideas are awesome. But then again, I might grow tired of seeing a gigantic black chalkboard wall in my house day after day. What do you think? Interesting or a little tasteless?

I admit, I’m a huge fan of the selected-area chalkboard art. These homes make use of chalk coverings on smaller areas that don’t require the timely upkeep of other designs. It seems like the perfect dose of creative freedom, while still keeping a space practical and free from an overdose of chalk dust.

This kitchen, however, just looks like a cave. It’s got serious cool factor at first glance, but to have to live in this place? I’d torch it right down to the ground.

Not sold on this one, either.

LOVE this door art! It’s an excellent way to leave notes for your family or roommates to catch on their way out.

This dining room is gorgeous, but has a sterile feel that comes off more as a work space than cozy eating area.

Here, the black chalkboard wall is offset by contrasting white trim and white-and-gray checkerboard flooring. Without the bright colors and natural light, this room would certainly fall victim to severe depression.

So who votes for home chalkboard walls? I may need a little convincing.

Love love love the chalkboard wall. Great idea, just use it on a small wall and I do not think you would become bored with it nor would I get tired of it. Like that idea but what do I know, I am not a designer but love things a little different than my friends or family.
