Over 112 million blogs were tracked by Technorati in 2008. It’s no wonder, then, that there are many, many blogs about remodeling. As an avid blogger and explorer of the blogosphere myself, I’m always discovering interesting blogs in my searches for useful information to share with you about the home remodeling scene. Here are 10 remodeling blogs with unique spins on the topic. Enjoy!

  1. Remodeling My Space has a remodeling blog contest going on. This website gives you a whole bunch of blogs within the blog – each one devoted to a particular home remodeling project.
  2. Kathy’s Remodeling Blog is a lively one, full of dozens of home remodeling categories and posts with photos and plenty of opinions. One of the categories is The Tightwad Remodel, no doubt getting lots of hits these days.
  3. Green Portland: A Design and Remodeling Blog keeps the focus on green issues around the house, and also has posts pertaining to sustainability of our communities with recommendations to work with your local small business owners.
  4. Craftsman Home Remodeling Blog is sure to be of interest to you if you are a fan of Craftsman design and architecture. There’s a photo library with over 2,000 pictures showing detail work, floor plans, construction-in-progress, and much more.

  6. Garden Web’s Garden Voices Blog features “great garden clippings from around the web,” and you’ll find assorted other topics in the mix as well. For example, you can learn how to make a rain chain and find out where to find deals on bulbs and spring plants.
  7. Case Design, an east coast remodeling firm, has a blog that includes topics such as Evaluating a Remodeler Today and A New Model for the Remodel Business. Topics will appeal to both pros and homeowners.
  8. Westchester Magazine’s Kitchen-of-the-Month Blog is a great find for kitchen lovers. Westchester is an upscale New York county, and the blog’s contents reflect the tastes and tastemakers of this sophisticated environment. Style for miles!

  10. Home Design Central posts information about actual home building plans. Whether you’re remodeling or building from the ground up, you can learn a lot by studying what’s new in housing design. There’s a list of other blogs, too, with links to plans for specific styles of homes – great resource.
  11. Steve Snedeker’s Landscaping and Gardening Blog is an example of one man’s passion for blogging about his passion – and he’s clearly passionate about photography, too. Steve’s stories are engaging and some of his feature destinations are stunning.
