If you prefer a root canal over tackling home improvement projects, then it may be time you take a less conventional approach. How about getting your family or group of best beds to keep you company while lightening your load? Here are some home improvement projects perfect for the whole gang.
#1 – Fresh Coat o’ Paint for the Summertime
If you’ve ever tried to paint an entire room solo, then you know what a big task it can be. So why not throw a good ole’ fashioned painting party? Tell your participants of choice to wear the best of their raggedy clothes, and you provide the food. What was once a 5-hour job could be cut in half, or less, depending on the amount of people you invite.
#2 – Start an Herb Garden
Wilted backyard got you down? Your kids might just be the perfect group to help. Instead of sticking to flowers, you can get your little ones to lend a hand in planting a vegetable garden. Not only will they love playing in the dirt, but it will give them a reason to become active participants when it comes to meal time as well.
#3 – Organize the Fun Way
Organization is a big part of how your home looks, but it takes time to get it right. If you want to get your kids excited about helping, turn it into an art project. Buy plastic containers, and paint one side of the container with chalkboard paint. Put your kids in charge of labeling each box and adding a bit of decoration.
#4 – Group Garage Sale
Or if your friends are also late on the spring cleaning, hold one gigantic garage sale. You’ll put your unused items in the hands of people that want them, and free up your home space at the same time.
Home improvement doesn’t have to be a terrible thing. Make as many projects as possible into group-friendly events, and you might start to enjoy the tasks on that to-do list.
