We have remodeled our house in stages for the past 20+ years, so we have always been looking out for ideas for our new projects. Here is something we have learned: While a friend's design might look beautiful in their house it might not belong in ours. And while that showroom's kitchen looks gorgeous, it might not be practical for our family. In our book The Happy Remodelers, we wrote about how important is to find what the right "function" of your new remodel should be for you before you decide on its form.
