Dining With Drama: A Show-Stopping Before and After

Addressing the dining room can be intimidating. A symbol of refinement and truly grown-up living, the room can potentially stump our creativity and individualism. Shouldn’t it be a somewhat stuffy place where utensils are used properly, thank you very much, and the chandelier tinkles amidst the silent chewing?

Certainly not! The dining room is meant to be a place where we feel refined, yes, amidst a pure revelry in life’s pleasure. And Sarah, courtesy of Design Sponge, shows us here that a dining room can be refined, intimate, and full of fiery energy.

Sarah took a plain room with conventional blinds and bland lighting and transformed it into a warm and full space.

Relying on large, chunky pieces for drama and clean décor, Sarah filled the room with an oversized mirror and sleek, traditional armless chairs (plus an awesome ghost chair!).

In the inertia of boldness, Sarah even painted her own Cy Twombly-inspired artwork. Now this is taking a formal space and boldly owning it. Props!
