Garage doors wear out or become outdated over extended periods of time. If it is time to freshen up the front of your home, there are some great new designs to choose from. Unlike other door styles, it has taken the industry quite some time to expand their creativity with garage doors; but I think we can say it has been worth the wait. Instead of simply serving a practical purpose, you can now make a statement with your garage door.
The Carriage House Design. This style is tremendously popular right now. This collection recreates the old-fashioned carriage house doors, complete with decorative metal hinges and handles. The doors come with a flat or arched top, and multiple glass options can be used. The doors can either be stained or painted.
The Contemporary Design. This style uses clean, simple lines to create a contemporary look that adds to the house, but doesn’t distract from the overall character.
The Ranch Collection. This classic barn-door design is just the look for a sprawling, traditional ranch home. Elegant, but still appropriate for the ranching lifestyle.
The Spanish Twist. Take a different route and add in a taste of Europe with this Spanish flavored design. Notice how the arched glass compliments the arch above the door.
The Cape Cod Style. American tradition runs deep with this simple Cape Cod door. Basic, without a lot of flair, but still eye-catching with the unique etched glass.
These five designs are just a sampling of the many captivating models on the market today. You have the ability to create a look all of your own. Combine different panels with your choice of glass, stain, and hardware. Work with your pre-screened contractor to install just the right door to really set your home apart from the rest.

I love the look of the carriage house garage door. Im wondering how that would look with a flat top. Id really love to have the arched top though. It would probably be a major renovation to install an arched top since our garage is flat top. Something hubby wouldn’t go for, even though Id hire a residential garage door company to put it in.
