Hello Elaine,

Thanks for your comment and strong opinion about water-based finish. However, I encourage you to take a closer look at the blog. The contractor interviewed recommends water-based finish on wood. In addition, there are several pros and cons listed for both water- and oil-based finishes.

We have been using ONLY water based finish, it is incorrect that you state that if staining the wood you MUST use oil. Bona Kemi has oil sealers + oil stains that work with their water based finishes, we custom stain A LOT - you are incorrect, we stain ALL THE TIME. And use Bona Kemi Commercial Traffic RIGHT ON TOP, they have a drifast stain.
